Enjoying your stories! Just read the Acme ones which have rekindled memories long forgotten. The Stevens’ farm was just north and at the top of the hill from Acme. So close, it’s part of my memory when thinking about the Stevens’ farm where mom grew up. I have vague memories of mom or one of her brothers or grandma and grandpa stopping in for something and we’d get a treat. Remember getting an ice cream sandwich so Acme was on the cutting edge of stocking processed foods:) Your articles brought names I remember hearing from childhood and had forgotten: Harry and Mabel Ring. I didn’t know he was a blacksmith! Assumed he was a farmer. They were longtime friends of the Stevens’s. Tommy Glennon: just remember the name and curious now if an Elma resident? The owner of Acme with the stooped back….had totally forgotten him. Will have to gather at Russ and Sue’s sometime. Would love to hear more of your memories along with Russ & Denny’s.
